Advanced 3D Animation: Peer Critique

For my peer critique I’m looking at a short 3 second animation by Ryan Williams. For his animation he had to animate someone feeling bashful change to feeling enmity. An obvious problem with the animation is the hands, the fingers and thumbs are completely stiff during the entire animation and never move which is very distracting. The emotion change is also very jarring, the character goes almost instantly from one emotion to the next with half a second of transition. Another issue is when the character goes to flip the table. They move downward in a very unnatural way because their arms aren’t moving at all, just the body. The characters hands also need to bend when initially trying to lift the table, they don’t and as a result the table looks weightless.
